Virtual Wine Tasting
   25 February 2021   

Malaysia Chapter kicked off the year 2021 with a "Virtual Wine Tasting" event by Sulo, General Manager of Wine Talk,  in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

The Presenter shared the different wine varietal and the art of wine tasting with the audiences. Over 20 audiences from the peers of the industry attended this interactive and fun-filled session.

This "After Work Fun Hour" series concluded with an interactive Q&As session by the attendees and the Presenter.

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic,  Malaysia Chapter kicked off the year 2020 with its first virtual event, a webinar presentation on “Public Health Indoors” on the 22nd April 2020 by Samantha Allen, a sustainability and healthy building expert with accreditations in WELL, LEED and BREEAM. Samantha previously managed overall market development of the WELL Building Standard, WELL Community Standard and WELL Portfolio program in South East Asia.

Workplace Strategy - The Why, What & How

The past two decades has seen the meteoric rise of the phenomenon called “workplace strategy”.  This has brought along new office concepts, such as agile working and activity-based working.  These concepts are based on the modern, more flexible way of working that has been developing in recent years; a result of the fast-changing needs of both employers and employees.  Employees are no longer bound to a single cubicle but move between different workplace types within and even outside of the office, depending on the type of activities they need to perform at any given time. 

Speaker for the event was Lion Kraaijbeek, Dutch nationality, has been working in Southeast Asia over the past more than 20 years.  A substantial part of this period he spent in the flexible office sector, working for companies like Regus, Nomad and CEO Suite.  Earlier this year he joined Measuremen, a Netherlands-based company providing workplace data and insights in support of workplace strategy and management of some of the world’s leading companies.

The Real Estate industry has always been considered a male dominant industry for years. In the recent years, we are seeing increased participation from women in the industry. It has been noted that women’s participation in real estate, has contributed immensely towards the development and growth within the industry. And yet, women continue to face many of the same challenges as their female peers in other industries. While both men and women in real estate face obstacles to advancement, women must contend with unique challenges as well as barriers.
