Public Health Indoors
22 April 2020 | Online Webinar

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic,  Malaysia Chapter kicked off the year 2020 with its first virtual event, a webinar presentation on “Public Health Indoors” on the 22nd April 2020 by Samantha Allen, a sustainability and healthy building expert with accreditations in WELL, LEED and BREEAM. Samantha previously managed overall market development of the WELL Building Standard, WELL Community Standard and WELL Portfolio program in South East Asia.

This first webinar was well attended by 120 audiences from the corporate real estate industry as well as from the government agencies, service providers, end-users, academicians etc from Hong Kong, India, Singapore and Malaysia

The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session by the attendees and the Speaker.







Property Outlook 2019
26 February 2019 | The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia Chapter kicked off the year 2019 with a panel of discussion talk on “Property Outlook 2019” on the 26th February 2019  at  The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

We are honoured to have the four leaders of the top real estate agencies in Malaysia to share their views and insights on the Corporate Real Estate Industry.  The four distinguished panelists were

  • Ms YY Lau, Managing Director of JLL Malaysia,
  • Mr. Sakunan Subramaniam, Managing Director of Knight Frank Malaysia,
  • Mr Foo Gee Jen, Managing Director of CBRE-WTW
  • Datuk Christopher Boyd, Executive Chairman of Savills Malaysia

Mr Khoo Hsu Chuang, Co-host of BFM’s Radio Morning Run & Contributing Editor at The Edge Media Group, was the moderator for the event.
 
The talk was well received by 140 representatives from the government agencies, developers, solicitors, estate agencies, service providers as well as investors.

   Workplace Strategy - The Why, What & How
 16 July 2019 | Regus @ Residensi Tribeca, Kuala Lumpur

The past two decades has seen the meteoric rise of the phenomenon called “workplace strategy”.  This has brought along new office concepts, such as agile working and activity-based working.  These concepts are based on the modern, more flexible way of working that has been developing in recent years; a result of the fast-changing needs of both employers and employees.  Employees are no longer bound to a single cubicle but move between different workplace types within and even outside of the office, depending on the type of activities they need to perform at any given time. 

Speaker for the event was Lion Kraaijbeek, Dutch nationality, has been working in Southeast Asia over the past more than 20 years.  A substantial part of this period he spent in the flexible office sector, working for companies like Regus, Nomad and CEO Suite.  Earlier this year he joined Measuremen, a Netherlands-based company providing workplace data and insights in support of workplace strategy and management of some of the world’s leading companies.

It was well attended by 76 representatives from the project managers, facilities managers, designers, developers, estate agencies, service providers as well as undergrad students.

Women In Real Estate - Leadership In Changing Times

The Real Estate industry has always been considered a male dominant industry for years. In the recent years, we are seeing increased participation from women in the industry. It has been noted that women’s participation in real estate, has contributed immensely towards the development and growth within the industry. And yet, women continue to face many of the same challenges as their female peers in other industries. While both men and women in real estate face obstacles to advancement, women must contend with unique challenges as well as barriers.

Four outstanding women, from real estate and beyond, to share their experiences and insights on how they have continuously strived for excellence within their respective markets were:-

About the Speaker :  Tim Rodber, CEO of the Instant Group

Tim joined The Instant Group in 2013 to spearhead the business’ growth as a dynamic and innovative property solutions provider. Previously he spent 10 years at global outsourcing firm Williams Lea, most recently as CEO of the Americas business. . Prior to Williams Lea, Tim held the role of Managing Director at London-based marketing and communications company, Rodber Thorneycroft Ltd, which Williams Lea acquired in 2003.

Tim launched his career as an Army officer, and then as a successful international rugby player. Playing for Northampton Saints, he appeared 44 times for England, twice for the British and Irish Lions, and was a Rugby World Sevens Cup Winner. He is a graduate of Oxford Brookes University.
